Does anybody know why my color editor is not working since I switched from Safari to the Firefox.  I switched to Firefox about a week ago because of all the problems with the new Safari and ever since the color editor for text does not work.  Any idea why?

The End of ChristianityThe other day I received two unsolicited packages from Jim Baird at B&H containing two advanced reader copies of William Dembski’s new book The End of Christianity.  Even though I did not request the book, and have a ton of others I need to get to, this title looks quite interesting.

Since B&H sent 2 copies I have decided to have a selfish contest to give away the second.  I am currently working through a multi-part series reviewing Logos for Mac.  I am not sure exactly how many parts it will have but probably 3 or 4.  So here’s the contest: On your blog announce and link to my current and forthcoming posts reviewing the software.  Whoever creates the most links will win.  You can put up a new post and link for each of my posts, make a new widget on you blog linking to the post, or even throw indiscriminate links into other posts of yours that have nothing to do with me or Logos. Get creative.  Whoever creates the most links will win.  The only catch is you have to review the book by November when it is released.

Here the synopsis from the back cover:

Truly there is no greater suffering or triumph of love than Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross.  This is traditional orthodoxy.  We’ve heard this before.  Sermons repeat is endlessly.  But do we really believe it?  And if we do believe it, should we?

In his new book, best selling author Dr. William A. Dembski addresses Christianity’s toughest question…and answers it!  With fresh insights Dembski enters the debate about how a good God can allow evil and suffering and produces a book that some scholars have described as “ground breaking”

Check out Cal.vini.st for a great Bibleworks 8 giveaway.  Pretty sweet.

ChairI got a new reading chair tonight.  A great deal from Craigslist!  It is a beautiful red-wine leather wingback recliner.  It is in almost brand-new condition, with only a few signs that it has ever been sat in; an excellent deal for $150!

Chair 2It is very much like the expensive brand name one I have enjoyed sampling every time I have visited Macy’s the last few years.  While I do like the brown leather a little bit more, it was going to be a very long time until I would be able to afford the new one from the department store at $1000.

1-peterSorry it took me so long, I had finals that needed to study for this weekend. The winner of the WBC  1 Peter commentary is Nick Norelli.  Thanks to those who took part!

When I was kid I wanted to be a historian.  Now, not so much.  I am doing a paper on the Sea Peoples and Philistines origin and migration into the Levant and its effect on the nation of Israel and am finding historical research to be much different than studying a text. While I certainly enjoy using historical data to enlighten my Biblical research,  I think I’ll stick the textual side Biblical studies.

Any other WordPress users out there know why all my previous posts and widgets suddenly went italic?  My most recent post is normal.  Anybody know?

David Porter over at A Boomer in the Pew is giving away a new Calfskin ESV Study Bible to celebrate his blog’s birthday.  Make sure you check it out here.
