Translation of James 1.12-27:

12It is good for the person who endures difficulties, because when they have passed the test they will receive the crown of life, which God promises to the ones who love him. 13No one who is tempted should say, “I am tempted by God.” because God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one. 14But each person is tempted by their own desires when they are lured away and held by them. 15When desire conceives, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown gives birth to death.

16Do not be deceived my much-loved brothers and sisters. 17All good acts of giving and every complete gift comes down from the Father of the Lights, in him there is no variation or constant change.  18By his plan, he gave birth to us through the message of truth so that we would be the first of his creatures to be restored.

19You must understand my much-loved brothers: all people must be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. 20For human anger does not produce uprightness before God. 21Therefore, once you have putting off all impurity and excess of evil, receive the message God has planted in you, which is able to save your soul. 22But be people who live out the message and not only people who listen to it, because that is simply deceiving yourself. 23Because if there is someone who only hears the message and does not live it, they are like a person who looks at their normal face in a mirror. 24They look at themselves, and look away, and immediately they forget what type of person they are. 25But the person who looks into the full teaching, the one of freedom, and continues to look, and is not a forgetful person who only listens, but is also a person who takes correct action, it is good for that person in all the things they will do.

26If anyone seems religious without controlling their speech, they are fooling themselves; this type of religion is empty.

27Religion that is pure, wholesome and from God the Father is this: Caring for orphans and widows in their need and keeping oneself innocent from the corrupt aspects of the world.
